Changed Comments Settings

I've had to change the comments settings for my blog because I have been spammed several times this past week.

I'm really sorry I had to do this. It's terrible how some people ruin it for everyone.

You now have to be a registered member at www.blogger.com to post a comment.
This means no anonymous posters any more.

Also, I enabled a word verification system that allows you to post a comment once you key in their code. I hope this doesn't inconvience anyone too much.

I really can't understand why some folks think spamming is an effective way to get people to purchase whatever you are selling. Personally, I go out of my way to NOT visit these sites.

Aussie Flag Bag

YAY!

Since someone here requested it, (and I'd already been working on it myself), the Aussie Flag Bag is finished!
I found an Australian flag graph at a beading site. But even that wasn't perfect. I had to fix it up a bit.
Here's the bag I came up with......(Images are clickable for enlargement).

Each star has the proper amount of points. It looks a bit different since it is graphed stars.
It has two red ties in the center to make a bow and close the bag.

Here it is untied.

Here I wanted to show the bottom and how I made two flags and sewed them together at the bottom (and one side too).
Also, I opened it to show the inside. Not very pretty, could use a lining, but it isn't necessary. The stitch is close and things will not fall through.

I've made a page where I've posted the flag graphs and pictures of the finished bags.

Hogwart's House Shields Afghan

This is really colorful! I think it has the most colors in a tunisian afghan that I've ever done. (Images are clickable for enlargement).

This time I used a size H circular crochet hook. (It has a hook on each end but I just put a rubber band on the one end so the stitches would stay on the cable.)

This shows the front and the back.....

I trimmed it by doing half-double crochet in clusters of three, two and one. I had to change between rows to keep it flat. I used one main House color to represent each House.

The graph was from here...

http://www.geocities.com/crochetshoppe/patterns.html

You need to download the Pattern Viewer first which is located at the bottom of the page. There is also another Harry one on here.

As you can see, I did not crochet the banner around the shield. (With "Hogwarts" and "Never tickle a sleeping dragon" motto).(The graph was something like 18 pages and I decided to only make the middle).

I really loved doing this project!
